Soft Light

Summer is ending. Another fall semester of university begins. I'm supposed to start. Hopefully I will soon.

I have two rolls of film that need to be developed. Since I got my film camera, I'm finding myself reluctant to use my digital camera. Just one of the reasons why I hadn't post in a while.

Today I got some Fujifilm and a new tripod today. I'm so happy! Now, I can take portraits without using stacks of books as a tripod.

I recently purchased a Canon Rebel 2000. My very first SLR! These are some of the test shots that I just scanned (sorry, it's not the best scanner). Some I'm o.k with. Some were just horrible! All taken using Kodak Ultra Max 400.

By the way, the first was originally in color but I converted it to b/w. I prefer it that way.

Its a little disappointing because this was my second attempt.

But its a lot easier for me to take photos without having to force myself creatively.

The 365 project is good and works for some; but its not for me.

I love libraries. They're like another home to me. I was out looking for The Canterbury Tales by Chaucer when I got distracted by some old fashioned books by poet Alfred Lord Tennyson. I love how vintage it looked. I thought it'll be good just to take pictures with it.

Today was pretty sluggish. Woke up this morning with an upset stomach . My whole body just feels exhausted. However, I spent the day watching indie and foreign films while drinking a cafe mocha.
I've stopped my 365 project. Maybe I'll do a 52 week project in the future.

Last weekend, I took a little walk around my school. I needed to clear my head and get back to taking some nature shots to create new stories.

Another week of photos!
However, I seem to be failing this 365 project already. Some days I've missed and had to make up. Now, I've seem to lost track. This is what happens when I let school in the way.
I'm currently back at university starting another semester.
I got my old job back at my school newspaper. I'll be working as a freelance staff writer. I'm so excited.

I have completed my first week of my 365 photo a day project.

This includes some extra photos from each session.

I'm thinking of doing both self-portraits and taking other kinds of photos. Personally, I'm getting tired of taking pictures with my face in it. My goal is to get back to being more creative with my photography and experiment with different themes.

Winter break is almost done and I go back to university this weekend. I'm a little excited.
